Dental Implants
Dr. Heyn has been restoring with implants for many years. He has worked with a team of Oral surgeons, Periodontists, and quality labs to get the best results. We have placed individual implants, bridges, and full arch fixed and removable implant supported teeth. Dr Heyn will go over the steps and costs involved and alternative options so you can decide what treatment is best for you.
What is a Dental Implant?
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root made of titanium metal. It’s placed in the jawbone and a crown is placed on top via a connecting piece called an abutment. Dental implants feel, act, and look like natural teeth. They are the strongest and longest-lasting replacement for natural teeth.
Dental implants let you talk, chew, and exert pressure just like natural teeth. Implants also prevent bone loss that occurs when teeth are missing.
Can I replace multiple teeth with implants?
Yes, just like natural teeth, implants can be used to support permanent bridges and removable partials and dentures. They can even support a permanent full arch of teeth.
How long does it take?
Depending on what needs to be done to get ideal support and success for an implant can change the time needed for a final result. Often we have an immediate replacement for you on the day of surgery. Later, when healing has occurred, the final restoration is placed. Our goal is to have options for smiling and chewing throughout this process. Dr. Heyn will discuss options and timing with you.
